Release Notes 3.94.00 - 27 October 2016

Service Types

The following changes were made to service types.

All Service Types

For service providers utilising the flag to disallow $0 cardlines for a service type, this flag will now prevent $0 Share Cap credit cardlines from being created.

Telstra WME

Added GPRS and snGS1 network service codes to provisioning of services.

AAPT - All Service Types

Emersion have made a variety of changes to the behaviour around service identifiers, service feature identifiers, provisioning systems and management of cost price in order to make it easier to perform reconciliation on AAPT products. Service Providers who buy and sell AAPT services should review the additional general enhancements related to service identifiers.

AAPT - NwB (NBN and DSL)

Important: Instead of the Location ID being used as the core identifier - it is not unique and represents a property not a service - Emersion is moving the location identifier into a GNAF address that is now visible under the Service Subscription > Service Address tab. Going forward the core identifier that is the unique identifier within AAPT for the service looks like a 9-digit number starting with 5.

The previous location ID will be bound against the service in the vanity id field if one is not already present.

Jasper

Fixed an issue with the jasper plan mapping screen when a Package Plan ID was provided in the search filter.

Optional Enhancements

Additional fees apply to have these features activated and configured. Some features may also attract a monthly subscription fee. Please contact Emersion Sales if you are interested in these features.

New Package Plan Settings / Product Order Map

The Package Plan > Settings tab now includes an additional flag Outright purchase requires immediate payment.

When used, the flag will force a payment to be collected for the purchase upfront as part of the order. This forced payment step also depends on the product being configured for outright purchase on the Product Order Map of a Package Plan. If the flag is not set, the order process will not force the customer to make a payment up front. Instead, a cardline for the purchase will be created that can be added to the invoice later. Products that are mapped to package plans that will be paid over instalments are not affected by this change.

This applies to Cumulus only. No changes have been implemented in the sign up portal.

Terms and Conditions

If a service plan is in draft, pending or saleable state, the terms and conditions can now be de-linked from the plan and set back to Draft status to allow the terms and conditions to be updated and reattached later on.

API Changes

Under the General WSDL a new API call was created called GetAPIStatus that functions as a connectivity test.

Enhancements - General

These changes are available to everyone.

Service Identifiers

  • The Customer > Service Subscription List and Services > List All page contain new search filters.
  • The Service Feature Management sub tab now permits identifier assignment, and gives users the ability to enter a cost price at the upper-most tier.
  • While service is Preactive users can now assign a service identifier during the semi-manual activation at any time.

Contract Breakout

Service Features of the type 'Access Fee' are now taken into account when a contract breakout is performed.

Cumulus - Session Expiry

Due to a recent update to the PCI DSS standards, automatic session expiry is now being inforced in Cumulus after a period of inactivity. An on-screen warning will give users the option to continue the session. Subsequently, should there be no activity detected by the session expiry time, the user is automatically logged out. This feature has been implemented for Cumulus only and does not extend to the End User Portal at this stage.

The settings are:

  • Warning time - 13 minutes
  • Session expiry time - 15 minutes

Emersion have chosen 15 mins as "PCI DSS Standard states such sessions should be 15 minutes or less"

Other Minor Enhancements

  • The Customer > Service Subscription List and Services > List All pages contain new search filters.
  • The Service Feature Management sub tab now permits identifier assignment, and gives users the ability to enter a cost price at the upper-most tier. The cost price will be ascertained from the 'Carrier Charge' mediated by the inbound usage feed and will be stored against the service feature subscription.
  • While a service is Preactive, users can now assign a service identifier during the semi-manual activation at any time.
  • The Admin > My Invoice Template > Invoice Layout tab, the option to silence call itemisation now shows Tariff IDs in the drop down in a more customer-friendly way. We have also added some search filters to the top of the Invoice Layout Type screen.
  • The Large Invoice Generator now has a timeout of 15 minutes. Users should be aware that large invoices will take longer to generate and render than smaller invoices and while sometimes the system may appear to hang, it is still processing in the background. We generally recommend using summary only invoices wherever possible if your customer has a large number of services.
  • A Last Login column was added to the Staff List in Cumulus. This will record successful logins, not attempted log ins.

Bug Fixes

While exporting a list as CSV, occasionally check boxes, radio buttons and other HTML became part of CSV. Similarly, the CSV file had no sort order. Both of these issues have been fixed.

Fixed a bug found with the filters for the Account Security Types page.

The Package Plan count for a Package Group under Package Catalogue > Package Group was incorrectly including inactive and non-saleable statuses. As of now, it show only Active, Approved and Saleable Package Plans.

Fixed a bug where it was possible to de-allocate a cardline from an invoice when it had previously been deleted from a separate browse tab under the same browser session.

Fixed a minor issue with the Customer > Dashboard where under the Product Purchase section, the instalment end date was being miscalculated.

Fixed a problem where in the End User Portal, payment details were not being saved correctly.

The Home > My Details > View Powers tab now shows a user's powers correctly.

Fixed a problem where users could not complete migration where service contacts were mandatory.

An issue was identified whereby usage cleansed by the Non Existent Service Fault page was not properly being re-identified. This was not a global issue, Affected service providers were individually notified and engaged in data cleanup at the time of resolution.

Resolved an issue where customers with no live payment gateway maps configured were not able to click on Receive Payment.

Fixed an issue where subscriptions belonging to users in account groups were not appearing in the Migrations list.

Fixed a problem where orders were showing up in the Order Fulfilment page before the signup process was complete.

Fixed the SIM Replacement process that was not Marking the Product Instance as Shipped and removing the SIM from Product Lock.

Fixed issue where in Report Schedule function causing the Service Type field not to populate in the Service Status report.

Rectified an issue where preventing users from aborting Preactive package subscriptions in Agent accounts.

Event Text Library

A new framework is has been implemented that will bring service providers the ability to maintain a library of text elements that can be used in an Event Variable. Service Providers can map these text elements to plan objects, meaning custom text can be inserted into an event for a telephony plan, and different custom text can be inserted into an event for a data plan. Or service providers may want to include a message to users for a short time only.

Package Activation Event

The package activation event (event type id: 31) has been modified to support text elements from the Event Type Library.

Service Activation Event

The service activation event (event type id: 1011) has been modified to support the ability to trigger based on a service type or a service type category. If either of these options are set, the event will no longer trigger for all activated services.

Minor Enhancements

Within the service desk module, the Add Note function would return an empty page if the customer has the outbound ticket event mapped but had not yet set up a template. We have now added a user notification prompt to set up the template and enable the event in these instances to bring an enhanced user experience.

Receipt Payment now has a module permission. We have enabled this for Admin Full Power role groups only. Users will need to enable it for other groups.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue with the activation of a voucher occurring occasionally.

The Jasper product's holding fees and the product on the Jasper Plan mapping are now optional.

Enhancements

Additional fees may apply to have these features activated and configured. Some features may also attract a monthly subscription fee. Please contact Emersion Sales if you are interested in these features.

Support for Prepaid Plans and Subscriptions

Until now, Emersion's system provided extensive support for post-paid plans and subscriptions. In this release, we have now introduced framework support for prepaid plans and subscriptions. Service types that can fully support prepaid plans are Telstra Mobile services on the WME platform, however the framework has been designed generically so roll out of prepaid services on other service types will be possible in the future. As a result of this support, Emersion has enhanced a number of key pages and areas of the system.

Changes to support prepaid are as follows:

Service Type Billing Type

A new Billing Type (Prepaid or Post-Paid) allows Service types to be able to support both billing methods. When creating a new Service Plan, users will now be prompted to nominate if this is a prepaid or post-paid plan. If prepaid is not available for your service type, the system will default to a postpaid plan. The Package and Plans > Management > Service Plan List has been modified to display this field in the list of service plans.

This change will be visible to all Cumulus users.

Service Subscription Life Cycle Status

When a service provider has a service type mapped that supports prepaid plans, the service will have a sub-status called Life cycle Status. This appears in the following pages:

  • Services > List All
  • Customer > Package Subscriptions > Allocated Service Subscriptions
  • Customer > Service Subscriptions

This life cycle status will be used by prepaid services to denote the actual state of the service while it is Active. They are a collection of statuses which are more granular than the normal statuses within Emersion.

View Usage

The View Usage pages in both Cumulus and the End User Portal have been modified to display a non-rated usage view for prepaid services.

Vouchers

A new product type has been created called Vouchers. These are special products designed to be used to top up a prepaid service immediately or kept for later use. Configuration options provide a way for service providers to choose if vouchers can be be transferred to other customers. Voucher products can be mapped to prepaid service plans. Once available, vouchers can be purchased via Cumulus or via the End User portal. The billing type for these services also shows in the Activation Portal

Events

Three new events have been introduced to support voucher products:

  • Voucherless Top-Up Activated Event
  • Voucher Activated Event
  • Voucher Purchased Event

Upgrade and Change of Ownership ('CHOWN')

This release introduces the ability to upgrade or perform a CHOWN on some package subscriptions. This has been made available already for subscriptions to the Telstra WME Mobile service type and service types where the check type is 'GeneralPhone'. Service providers can find out the check type for any service type by running the reference report titled Service Type List.

While the upgrade and CHOWN options will be available for all package subscriptions, not all subscriptions can be upgraded or the ownership changed. The system will first validate any service subscriptions inside the package subscription. If it meets this validation, the user will be prompted to proceed. In the case either type of transfer, users will have the option to select a new SIM or retain the existing one. The system will initialise a new order and take the user through the process. Once the order is submitted, it can be provisioned in the usual way, depending on the service type and it's configuration.

Bulk Tools

The following bulk tools have been released to facilitate the administrative requirements of Telstra WME prepaid services.

  • Bulk Import - Cancel ePIN

  • Supports a service identifier-based username.
  • A new Get Recent Usage page.
  • A new Get Real-Time Balance function.
  • A Top-up screen allows end users to purchase and activate vouchers.
  • View Usage - Prepaid services will show a new page displaying unrated usage. Post paid services will utilise the current View Usage page.

Activation Portal

The Activation Portal now shows the service subscription 'billing type' in the service list.

Account Profile

Extensions have been made to Account Profiles to enable the mapping of Packages to an Account profile. This functionality is designed to limit customers' access to package plans based on the account profile. This adds another layer of filtering that potentially impacts the list of available packages during an order. As a result, the plan selection page in the order process has been enhanced with helpful text designed to enable users troubleshoot why a given package may not be appearing in the list of available package plans.

API Updates

4 new Account API calls have been introduced:

  • UpdateAccountStatus
