Overview
Price books are a mechanism by which service providers can apply different pricing and pricing behaviour to the same products across different users.
All service providers have a default price book. As the name suggests, the default price book will contain the default price for all products. During the sale process, the system will look for the correct price to charge the customer in accordance with a set of predefined rules. If the system cannot find a price in any of the possible price override mechanisms, it will use the price in the default price book.
If there is no price for the product in the default price book, the product will not be available to choose from the Product Purchase screens.
