Create a Commission Tier

The Commission Tier is the first thing to be created when setting up commissions for an Agent. A commission tier can be thought of as the container for commission plan between the Service Provider and an Agent or Agency to sell products & services of the Service Provider.

Once a commission tier is created and linked to an agent (via the Org Unit), the Commission tier can then be linked to products, package plans, service plans, service features or bolt-ons. Commissions Tiers can also be used to provide different 'levels' of Commission for different staff or groups within the same Agency.

To set up a commission tier:

Navigate: Commissions > Commission Tiers

By default, the Commissions Tier main screen will display any Commissions Tiers that already exist in Emersion. Follow the steps below to create a commissions tier.

  1. Click the Add Tier button.
  2. Choose the Tier Type.
  3. Enter a name and optional description
  4. Click Submit

Tier Types

There are two types of Commission tiers.

Subscription: Choose this option for subscription-based services. i.e. Package Plans, Service Plans, Service Features, Bolt-ons
Product: Choose this option for products

If your Agent earns commission on both products and subscription-based services, they will require two commission tiers, one of each type.
