Overview
The infrastructure module is designed for carrier-level service providers who are managing their own network and infrastructure. This optional module provides a way for these service suppliers to store, manage and track hardware assets and then use the information within the GNAF address data set to determine the availability of technologies in the areas where they are expanding into.

Storing and managing the infrastructure in Emersion gives the ability Retail Service Providers to perform a service qualification on any GNAF address, and return a result based on the availability of the technology as determined in the infrastructure's status.

For further information about the infrastructure module or to request a quote, please contact Emersion Sales.

Prerequisites
Users of this module need:
* moderate technical competency in networking at a carrier level
* a basic understanding of the management of such network infrastructure
* a good understanding of the function of a Service Qualification.

Concepts
The picture below describes the building blocks needed to ensure that an SQ will pass or fail depending on the availability of the service as determined by the infrastructure.
This article describes how to set up a plan with included value.
You will be required to change the settings on a package plan, a service plan and rate card.
Package Plans
Navigate: Package and Plans > Management > Package Plan

Below is a screenshot of the Package Plan configuration screen with the included value settings highlighted. Emersion offers a single included value option for a package plan. The type of included value includes:
* dollar
* kilobytes
* units
* seconds

The following five (5) fields correspond to a single included value option against the package plan. For each included value plan option, all 5 fields are mandatory.

Included Value Pro Rata: Select Yes if you want the included value to be pro rated. <br />
Value and type: The amount or value that will be included each period. Enter a number into the value field and select the type from the options available in the dropdown.<br />
Internal name: Give your included value a name (e.g. 50 SMSs, $400 Australian calls, etc).<br />
External name: This name will be displayed in place of the name wherever it is presented externally. E.g. On an invoice, in the End User portal. <br />
Share included value across services?: Tick this option if the included value is to be shared across services (of the same service type) that belong to the same account.<br />
NB. Share Cap only supports Dollar ($) based caps -
See Shared Cap

Service Plans
Navigate: Package and Plans > Management > Service Plan > Included Value

In this section, you can configure up to 4 included value options for a service plan, although by default, a single slot is provided.

A 'slot' maps a single included value option on a service plan to the tariffs in the rate card for inclusion under the included value arrangement. This is needed so that the system knows what usage is considered to be 'included value' and which is not. These slots also correspond to the slot selections within the Rate Card manager where tariffs are assigned to a slot.

It is recommended you edit the Rate Card first (see instructions below) and assign all the tariffs you want to be included to a slot before assigning the slot to the service plan.

To assign an included value slot to a service plan click the Create New button and complete the fields:

Included Value Slot Type: Select the slot from the available list. <br />
Included Value Pro Rata: Select Yes if you want the included value to be pro rated. <br />
Value and type: The amount or value that will be included each period. Enter a number into the value field and select the type from the options available in the drop down.<br />
Internal name: Give your included value a name (e.g. 50 SMSs, $400 Australian calls, etc).<br />
External name: This name will be displayed in place of the name wherever it is presented externally. E.g. On an invoice, in the End User portal. <br />
Is Excess Sharing activated for this slot?: Tick this option if any excess usage is to be distributed across multiple services (of the same service type) that belong to the same account. This requires all services to be on a plan that is also configured to allow usage excess sharing.<br />
Press Save to save the changes.

Rate Cards
In this section, tariffs are assigned to one of four included value slots. If a subscription to multiple included values does not exist, whilst you can assign tariffs to any of the four available slots, you can only assign SLOT 1 to a service plan. In assigning tariffs to a slot, the system knows which usage to 'include' and which is not included.

Navigate: Packages and Plans > Management > Rate Card > Add/Edit Rate

When editing a rate, you must:

* mark the rate ‘In Cap’
* choose the included value slot for which the rate is applicable.

Remember that rate cards may be linked to more than 1 service plan, each with their own Included Value Configuration.

Included Value Overview
With subscription-based services, it is very common to see a subscription include a limited (or unlimited) amount of value of whatever service that is being offered. This is commonly referred to as 'Included Value'.

Examples of included value might be:

* A mobile subscription with $300.00 worth of Australian calls
* A 4G service with up to 3GB of data a month
* A mobile subscription with 500 SMS/MMS per month.
* unlimited texting
* A subscription to cloud storage with 1TB of storage

Specifically for the Australian telco market, the term 'included value' has a defined meaning. See More..

In Emersion, the included value features provides a way for service providers to offer their customers a plan with a single included value option. The type of value that can be included can be:
* dollar
* kilobytes
* units
* seconds (converted to HH:MM:SS when presented to users)

For example, a plan can be set up to include:

* a mobile phone service with $300.00 worth of calls within Australia; OR
* an ADSL service that includes up to 50GB of data a month; OR
* 500 SMS/MMS per month.

Single vs Multiple Included Value
By default, all Emersion clients can set up a plan with a single included value amount. A single amount of a single type can be configured per plan. <br />

Multiple included value extends this support to allow up to 4 included value options on a service plan and a single included value option on a package plan. The type of included value you can offer on a plan is also extended to more than one type.

Extending the 'single' examples from above, multiple included value allows you to support a package plan that includes:

* a mobile phone service with $300.00 worth of calls within Australia; AND
* an ADSL service that includes up to 50GB of data a month; AND
* 500 SMS/MMS per month.
<br />
Multiple included value amounts for your plans require an additional subscription. Should you wish to offer multiple included values, please contact Emersion Sales by emailing [mailto:sales@emersion.com.au sales@emersion.com.au]

Included Value Settings
The settings pages of Package Plans, Service plans and Rate Cards all contain settings relevant to configuring a plan with included value correctly. Once configured, a tariff inside a rate card can be allocated to an included value slot. Multiple tariffs can be mapped to the same slot. If a tariff is mapped to a slot, the usage for that tariff is counted towards the customer's included value quota.

* A 4G service with up to 3GB of data a month
* A mobile subscription with 500 SMS/MMS per month.
* unlimited texting
* A subscription to cloud storage with 1TB of storage

Specifically for the Australian telco market, the term 'included value' has a defined meaning. See More..

In Emersion, the included value features provides a way for service providers to offer their customers a plan with a single included value option. The type of value that can be included can be:
* dollar
* kilobytes
* units
* seconds (converted to HH:MM:SS when presented to users)

For example, a plan can be set up to include:

* a mobile phone service with $300.00 worth of calls within Australia; OR
* an ADSL service that includes up to 50GB of data a month; OR
* 500 SMS/MMS per month.

* a mobile phone service with $300.00 worth of calls within Australia; AND
* an ADSL service that includes up to 50GB of data a month; AND
* 500 SMS/MMS per month.
<br />

The slot is then allocated to a service plan.

Service Plan Included Value Settings:
* Included Value Slot Type: Select the slot from the available list.
* Included Value Pro Rata: Select Yes if you want the included value to be pro rated. (eg. If set to Yes and the included value offering is $100 and that service starts in the middle of a 1 month period, the service would only have approx $50 available included value)
* Value and type: The amount or value that will be included each period. Enter a number into the value field and select the type from the options available in the drop down.
* Internal name: Give your included value a name (e.g. 50 SMSs, $400 Australian calls, etc).
* External name: This name will be displayed in place of the name wherever it is presented externally. E.g. On an invoice, in the End User portal.
* Is Excess Sharing activated for this slot?: Tick this option if any excess usage is to be distributed across multiple services (of the same service type) that belong to the same account. This requires all services to be on a plan that is also configured to allow usage excess sharing.
** Note: If this is enabled, you have the optional ability to specify a 'Share Key'. Setting this restricts excess sharing to plans that have the same share key only.

When Shared Cap is enabled, the system will locate other service subscriptions which have periods which end on the same day, and also have Shared Cap enabled and any remaining excess quota that remains can be used to absorb the cost of any other services which have gone into excess.

If you wish to maintain multiple pools of plans which are grouped together, simply use the 'Group Key' as a way to do this. The system will only group subscriptions together if they share a Group Key.

If you are sharing only on Tariff and the call cost is the same you can convert the Units required i.e. 1,000 @ $0.40 per call to $400 allowance and the nett effect will be the same. You can still name you plan 'includes 1,000 mobile calls' or what you wish.

* dollar
* kilobytes
* units
* seconds

NB. Share Cap only supports Dollar ($) based caps<br />

* A 4G service with up to 3GB of data a month
* A mobile subscription with 500 SMS/MMS per month.
* unlimited texting
* A subscription to cloud storage with 1TB of storage

Specifically for the Australian telco market, the term 'included value' has a defined meaning. See More..

In Emersion, the included value features provides a way for service providers to offer their customers a plan with a single included value option. The type of value that can be included can be:
* dollar
* kilobytes
* units
* seconds (converted to HH:MM:SS when presented to users)

For example, a plan can be set up to include:

* a mobile phone service with $300.00 worth of calls within Australia; OR
* an ADSL service that includes up to 50GB of data a month; OR
* 500 SMS/MMS per month.

* a mobile phone service with $300.00 worth of calls within Australia; AND
* an ADSL service that includes up to 50GB of data a month; AND
* 500 SMS/MMS per month.
<br />

For an example of configuring Included Value, see --> Configure a plan with Included Value

Included Value Types
The following types of included value can be set up.

Dollars: Displays with a dollar sign $ and will be rounded to 2 decimal places. Usage is stored as an ex-tax figure but in the event notifications is rendered to customers.

Kilobytes: Kilobytes will display GB, MB, or KB depending on the figure. For example, 1572864 kilobytes would be displayed at 1.5 Gigabytes, while 2855 kilobytes would displayed as 2.79 MB. This is dynamic depending on how much data is available.

Units: Displays the number of units.

Seconds: Like Kilobytes, time is recorded as seconds internally, but will be converted to hours/minutes/seconds. 600 seconds would show as 10 minutes, where 2700 seconds would show as 2 hours. 8774 seconds would be displayed as 2hrs 26min 14sec.

Changes to Subscription Threshold Notification Events (TCP Alerts)
In order for the subscription threshold notification events to support included value and bolt-on add-ons, Emersion upgraded the two existing events and will in the next release, include an additional subscription threshold notification event for clients who subscribe to bolt-on add-ons.

Service Subscription Cap Threshold Notification Event
The following changes apply to this event:

* The name of this event has changed to Service Included Value Threshold Notification.
* Some variables will undergo a name change to make them consistent across events and better describe their function and purpose.
* Ex-Tax versions of dollar-based variables are no longer supported.
* New variables have been added.
NB. Share Cap only supports Dollar ($) based caps<br />

End Users can apply cost centres to their own services (Service Subscriptions) via the End User Portal if the service provider wants to enable it. This feature has a number of prerequisites:

* The service provider has an active End User Portal.
* The service provider has a subscription to the Cost Centre module that includes enabling this feature on their End User Portal(s).
* The End User has been granted a login to the End User portal.
* The service provider has set up cost centre types for the customer, or has cost centre types that are set up for global use.

End users cannot apply cost centres to:

* Package subscriptions
* Cardlines

This can only be done by users of Cumulus.

For assistance on performing the prerequisites tasks, please refer to the Cost Centre help section. If your organisation has subscribed to the Cost Centre module, but your end users cannot see the Cost Centre sub tab in the End User Portal, please raise a ticket with Emersion Support. This feature is not enabled automatically.

The Emersion Wiki is updated regularly to reflect the latest changes to the system. New and updated articles (and videos) are appearing every week. Therefore we encourage you to visit this wiki on a regular basis and subscribe to updates.
NEW RESOURCES SITE
Emersion intends to eventually replace the Emersion Wiki where our documentation is presently published and has commenced migrating the content from the wiki to this knowledge base.

https://resources.emersion.com
With this knowledge base that seamlessly integrates with the Emersion Service Desk, users of Emersion will be able to gain faster access to a solution and relevant search results helping you solve issues faster than before. Users will generally find articles easiest by searching, and using the topic navigation on the homepage and end of each article, rather than navigating through a tree-like page hierarchy.

Our Release Notes has taken on new life with a new blog format and fortnightly publishing of what's gone live in the last two weeks. Be sure to check them out.

This repository is used to provide education on Emersion's billing and provisioning system, Emersion concepts and online help to all Emersion's users regarding all of the features and functions available to you.

The Emersion Wiki is updated regularly to reflect the latest changes to the system. New and updated articles (and videos) are appearing every week. Therefore we encourage you to visit this wiki on a regular basis and subscribe to updates.

If there is a section of the system of which you would specifically like further information about, please contact our support team.
NEW RESOURCES SITE
Emersion intends to eventually replace the Emersion Wiki where our documentation is presently published and has commenced migrating the content from the wiki to this knowledge base. https://resources.emersion.com.

It Starts with Signing In
A new custom stand-alone application has been developed that will eventually be used as a 'Single Sign On' to multiple Emersion applications.

In this initial deployment, it is being used to secure the new Emersion Knowledge Base. Just like the this Wiki, users need to authenticate using their Cumulus login to gain access to the knowledge base.

Users wanting to bookmark the Emersion Knowledge Base can create a bookmark directly.
The URL is https://resources.emersion.com.
This address to redirect users to the authentication page as shown below. After authenticating, users will be automatically re-directed back to the Emersion Knowledge Base landing page.
